OBAMA BEGINS SALES PITCH ON TRADE TO WARY U.S. PUBLIC

President Barack Obama has began a broad sales pitch to the U.S. public about the merits of free trade deals, an area in which he faces stiff resistance from many in his own Democratic party. He wants to work with Congressional Republicans to finalize the Trans Pacific Partnership trade pact. That is a agreement that would stretch form Japan to chile covering 40% of the world economy. Labor and environmental groups allied with Democrats have been pushing hard against the idea. Fast track authority is suppose to protect workers and promote businesses. Obama cast it as a way to puch back against the exporting powerhouse of China
